Want to rub shoulders at the Tribeca Film Festival? You’ll need an NFT for that
  • NFTs are being released by the Tribeca Film Festival and the cryptocurrency exchange OKX, giving holders VIP access to the movie event.
  • To mint one NFT, it costs 0.6 ETH, or about $838, plus gas, or $899 with a credit card.

At the Tribeca Film Festival this year, do you want to mix and mingle with famous people? An NFT is required for that.

NFTs are being made available by the festival and cryptocurrency exchange OKX, giving users access to VIP events with actors Robert de Niro and Jane Rosenthal, co-founder and CEO of Tribeca Enterprises, as well as some screenings.

Tribeca NFT holders will use their OKX Wallet app to scan a QR code at specific entry points, verifying their pass and allowing them to enter events, according to Nate Zou, OKX’s head of Web3 global growth. On the company’s NFT platform, the OKX Launchpad, these NFT passes cost 0.6 ETH to mint with gas, or $899 to purchase directly from the Tribeca Film Festival website. 500 Tribeca passes are available for use at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in New York from June 7–18.

Early spring 2022 saw the signing of a partnership between OKX and Tribeca Film Festival, according to Zou.
