Blockchain game Synergy Land migrates to Polygon
  • The migration of Synergy Land to Polygon joins a slew of other gaming and NFT companies on the new blockchain.
  • Polygon looks to be a popular blockchain among several high-profile initiatives, including Starbucks and Reddit-branded NFT drops.

The blockchain musical chairs game does not appear to be slowing down.

Synergy Land, a web3 action role-playing game in development, has announced that it will migrate from the Solana blockchain to the Polygon blockchain.

While Synergy Land is a modest and unknown initiative, it joins a growing list of gaming and NFT projects that have lately decided to migrate to a new blockchain. Polygon has grown in popularity among high-profile, branded drops such as Starbucks, Reddit, and former United States President Donald Trump’s digital trading card collection.

Polygon is an Ethereum sidechain that enables faster and less expensive transactions.

Late last year, the generative art NFT collection y00ts relocated from Solana to Polygon. Arrivant also announced that their Project Eluüne: StarGarden game would be released on Polygon and Solana in 2022. At the time, Arrivant CEO Cedric Gamelin said: “We believe Polygon is establishing an ecosystem well-suited to welcome the next generation of gamers into the market.”

Polygon said it had recruited Xternity, a business that attempts to expedite the process of onboarding gamers to Web3 platforms with products and services like a crypto wallet for holding in-game assets, to help with Synergy Land’s move.

According to Sagi Maman, CEO, and co-founder of Xternity, his company intends to expedite blockchain game development by allowing developers to “select their own environment” and gamers to feel “ownership” of digital assets.

Synergy Land is currently a tiny project that hopes to complete an “initial game offering” by the end of the first quarter of this year, according to a business release. A team of 25 people is in charge of the game’s development.
